Inspired and thankful

There's a surge of energy within me as I was able to break out of my podcasting hiatus. Going out of local blogging community developments was helpful in finding what I want and get that spark of inspiration needed.

My first podcast and vlog tutorial is finally up. I know that this is a major deviation to what I've done in the past. But this time, I'd like to think long term hoping these materials will have lasting value online.

Vloggers like Gerry, Coy and Tanggera inspired me to give this a shot. Cheers as well to Manuel Viloria who shared info about the Thirty Day Challenge that ignited my creative content juice.

Preparing for a podcast revival

When I started the DigitalFilipino.com Podcast last year, the feedback that Creative Voices Production and I got ranged from nice to critical. With 14 episodes done in a span of one year, we felt a sense of fulfillment as we took Philippine podcasting to a different level and made a first by having paid sponsors placing ads in our podcast.

The past few months, I took a break in podcasting as I'm searching for some inspiration and new ideas in doing the podcast. The break was great as well as Creative Voices Production got their hands full with their Inquirer Election podcast gig, among others.

Comic book writer Gerry Alanguilan also sent me an email lately asking for thoughts on Video Blogging or V Blogging. I tried that in the year 2000 (the time when I had my Infotech online radio as well) but only showing the faces of the people I interview.

I guess the reason why not that many do video blogging is that we are mostly conscious of our looks and every episode would require some level of proper presentation. However, there may be some opportunities there worth experimenting with.
During iBlog3, Wilson Chua of eRadioPortal opened the doors to content creators in exploring further podcasting opportunities and take advantage of the long tail or growing market in this area.

Enjoying chaos

I admit that I'm the kind of person who thrives on personal chaos. I dislike the idea when everything around me gets too comfortable and end up creating personal challenges to grow. Although I must admit that the repurcussion can be quite tough and there are several lessons learned in that regard. Learnings gain makes it all worthwhile.

During the travel break, I will reflect on what to do after closing all the pending items I indicated above.

Handling online flame war

In the DigitalFilipino.com Podcast Episode 4, I answered a question on how to handle an online flame war, where people attack or put you down online.

Team Leadership

My article today at Sun.Star is Team Leadership. May it provide guidance to those who have just been promoted. Even to those who are working on their promotion. Cheers!

Update: I also discussed this in DigitalFilipino.com Podcast Episode 2.
