Opportunity to Practice Patience
Over the weekend, I got the chance to catch up with an industry peer who is also a motivational speaker. Got to know him more when I attended one of his leadership workshop last year.
In the process of catching up, I told him of recent developments where a lot of the people I get to work with are one way or another - religious. Shared to him that it must be a reminder for me to keep track with my goal of attaining a "state of enlightenment". However, I realized that there are folks who I have conflict, even though I don't know who they are as a person, but happens to claim of being "somewhat religious".
It reminded of the phrase, "Like begets like". The people we get close to or become enemies have something in them that is also in us.
As I reflect further, I realized that I somehow did not exert the same patience and tolerance that I used to have.
And so I pray and thankful for the opportunity to practice patience. Learn to do it again in its purest form with no attachment or hatred. May my actions not conflict with the path I want to pursue.
