DB2 v8 provides integrated information infrastracture for database management, tools, content management and business intelligence for a seamless flow of information.
The new database software aims to solve critical business problem -- integrating information across the enterprise and minimizing the tasks and costs associated with maintaining their data management infrastructure. It introduced its SMART database strategy or the advanced autonomic computing capabilities, including self-managing and self-tuning features, enabling customers to reduce the time and costs when managing database systems.
"DB2 is the industry's multimedia, web-ready relational database management system, strong enough to meet the demands of large corporation and flexible enough to serve medium-sized and small e-businesses," said Tan, Ser Yean, business development manager for Data Management Solutions, IBM Software, ASEAN/SA.
