8th Internet anniversary (2002)
This is my first posting for this year. Sorry for it took me quite a while to post anything. A lot of things happened to me during the first part of this year. Let me share them to you.
I just finished the One Internet Day 8th Internet anniversary celebration last April in Cebu, Davao, Iligan, Manila, and Cagayan De Oro. On its 3rd year, this event means a lot to me for it allowed me to build strong friendship with people from different parts of the country. I'm very happy when I saw ITNetCentral's Internet History site. For the first time, our efforts are being recognized.
I just finished the awards as well the winners for the 1st Philippine School CyberFair Competition. We'll be preparing the launch for the 2nd edition of this awards this August. The winners are definitely worth checking out.
Last Holy Week, I was in France to represent the Philippines in the European Information Technologies Week. It is the first time for the Philippines to be represented in this event. We look forward to be part of it again next year.

Last Friday, the 1st Philippine E-Government Awards was launched with me as the chairman of it. I consider it as a highly controversial project for I know that there are groups who wanted to do it but was not quick enough. However, being no longer part of ITECC at this time made me feel comfortable in handling this project.
Times are pretty tough and I'm not immune to it. I'm suffering like anyone else. However, we all have to keep on moving and not let anyone put us down. Especially if you feel and know that what you're doing is right. Hang in there.
